Every fourth Saturday the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center hosts Bird Tours that are designed specifically for the beginning birder. Travelling by foot, a guide will go over birding identification and the proper use of binoculars. This is a family-friendly program best for ages 5 and older, although advanced birders are also welcome to attend. The center hosts over 300 kinds of birds annually on the sanctuary’s grounds, which include four types of distinct habitat - so there is something for everyone to see! Cost of the tour is $10 for non-members; it is free for members. For full details and registration, visit the center’s website.
