Birds of the Big Bend & Davis Mountains
Presenter Mike Petrick will provide an unscientific and sometimes humorous look at birds seen in the Big Bend and Davis Mountains areas. The ecological diversity of far west Texas provides habitat for about 450 resident and migratory species of birds, including a mix of eastern, western, Mexican and Rocky Mountains species. Mr. Petrick will share images of, and stories about, the species he has photographed in that part of the state — and what it took to capture those images.
Mike Petrick is a native of Burnet County, a retired educator, and a Texas Master Naturalist. He volunteers as a tour guide at the Heard Refuge in McKinney, the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area and the Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge near Sherman.
Please note that the online meeting will start at 10:00 a.m. and the presentation will begin at 10:30 a.m.
