Cowbirds 101 (NEW: Online ONLY)

Scott Summers will present “Cowbirds 101” on Thursday, February 3, 2023. Topics include cowbird identification, proliferation, nest parasitism, and the cowbird trapping program designed to protect endangered songbirds.

Mr. Summers holds a degree in Wildlife Biology from Texas State University. He has 25 years’ experience dealing with cowbirds and leads the program at Fort Hood.

The HLBWS meeting begins at 10:00 a.m., via Zoom. Please note: There will be NO in-person meeting at the AgriLife Extension Service in Burnet, TX due to road conditions. The virtual doors open at about 9:45 a.m. for some informal social time. Non-members who wish to attend the online version of the meeting will need to complete the “Contact Us” form to register for admission.
