February Meeting: “Land Trends in Texas and the Importance of Conservation”

Kelly Tarla, a Burnet County Agri-Life Extension Agent for the Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension Service, will join members and guests of the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. Ms. Tarla will discuss land use, development and the array of environmental impacts of the area’s population growth. Some of the adaptations that native species are making, in response to these changes in habitat, will be described. Ms. Tarla will explore what conservation of natural resources means and the varying perspectives on its implementation.
