“The Extraordinary World of Migratory Birds,” eCornell

This FREE online event examines some dramatic changes in the numbers and annual cycles of migratory birds. World-renowned ornithologist John W. Fitzpatrick and author/columnist Scott Weidensaul will discuss how bird populations are sensitive natural barometers of environmental health and how some of North America’s most iconic species are experiencing alarming declines. Hope can be found in birds’ resiliency: time and again, birds have demonstrated the ability to successfully bounce back after humankind heeds the signals that birds are giving, and adjusts treatment of the environment accordingly. Registration is required, here. Start time is 2 p.m. Eastern, or 1 p.m. Central time.
