Texas Pollinator BioBlitz STARTS, Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (ENDS October 22, 2023)

The Texas Pollinator BioBlitz is a citizen science project aimed at gathering as much data as possible about pollinators and the nectar-producing plants that they visit. Participation is just as easy as it is important! From October 6 through October 22, 2023, spend time outdoors and document your observations of pollinators - bees, butterflies, moths, bats, hummingbirds, beetles and more - and nectar-producing plants in iNaturalist. With over 30 native pollinator/flower-visiting species designated as “Species of Greatest Conservation Need,” these data will give scientists valuable insight into the statuses of Texas’ pollinator populations. The whole family can get outside and have fun participating in this project, too! Share photos on the Facebook event page or on Instagram with #TXPollinators. Full details are available on TPWD’s website.
