HLBWS Nature Walk

This event at Indian Springs Ranch will start at 8:30 a.m. sharp for a bird walk. Then, beginning at 9:30 a.m., there are three options for participants: 1) a scenic and fairly vigorous hike, which follows a route that highlights the cow creek drainage, some sink holes, the ponds, possibly a couple of falls, and a picnic area; 2) a short walk down a hill to a canyon, where participants can see various wildflowers and birds; or 3) a quick ride down the hill to walk around the flat ground by the ponds to observe birds and flowers, with a return ride back up the hill. The hikers will meet back up with the other groups after an hour or two. At that time, all participants can enjoy their own beverages, snacks or lunches in a covered picnic area at the ranch, with the opportunity to debrief and discuss the species observed during the morning. The field trip will wrap up by about 12:30 p.m.
