Cornell Lab of Ornithology coordinates two Global Big Days each year, this one in May and the other in October. This is a world-wide citizen science project, and anyone can take part in it! It’s as easy as 1-2-3. One, create an eBird account if you do not already have one. Two, on the specified date, go out and enjoy bird watching for at least 15 minutes. Three, record and submit your observations in eBird. That’s all there is to it! Your observations will be compiled with all the other observations submitted from around the world, adding to a rich database that scientists and researchers use to better understand our avian friends.
