“Magic, Mystery and Deception in Backyard Pollinator Gardens,” NPSOT

Guest speaker George Miller will discuss the mechanisms that have evolved in flowers to serve the purpose of pollination. These mechanisms can include “deception, false advertising, bait and switch, and even deadly tricks to entice insects into traps”. If you plant a pollinator garden in your backyard, you may be able to observe such mechanisms in action. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. Full details, and the link to register for this event, are available here.
