HLBWS Monthly Meeting: “Ethics and the Nature Photographer”

  • AgriLife Extension Service 607 North Vandeveer Street Burnet, TX, 78611 United States (map)

Where are the limits on what photographers should do to capture powerful images of the natural world? Jennifer Leigh Warner will discuss social responsibility and maintenance of public trust in a presentation, “Ethics and the Nature Photographer,” to members and guests of the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society (HLBWS) on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. She advises, “How we make our images and how we label them defines us as photographers.”

Ms. Warner is an award-winning wildlife, landscape and conservation photographer who lives in Central Texas. Her work has been featured in numerous publications as well as in art festivals, galleries and museums throughout the United States. Ms. Warner also chairs the ethics committee for the North America Nature Photography Association (NANPA).

This will be HLBWS’s final meeting of the 2022-2023 program year. Plans for the morning include an 8:00 a.m. bird walk at Haley Nelson Park, weather permitting, and some social time at 9:30 a.m. at the AgriLife building. Our business meeting starts at 10:00 a.m. and our invited speaker presents at approximately 10:30 a.m.
