Members and guests of the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society plan to make a field trip to Westcave Preserve. The 9:00 a.m. group tour will head down the canyon to the grotto and waterfall, which involves climbing down and back up a 100-ft. stone staircase. The 1.5-2 hour guided hike is considered moderate to difficult. There will be a cost to participate in this field trip (estimated at $20/person, but the final amount is TBD), which is simply to cover the ticketing fees charged by the preserve.
