HLBWS Field Trip to Westcave Preserve

  • Westcave Preserve 24814 Hamilton Pool Road Round Mountain, TX, 78663 United States (map)

Members and guests of the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society plan to make a field trip to Westcave Preserve. The 9:00 a.m. group tour will head down the canyon to the grotto and waterfall, which involves climbing down and back up a 100-ft. stone staircase. The 1.5-2 hour guided hike is considered moderate to difficult. There will be a cost to participate in this field trip (estimated at $20/person, but the final amount is TBD), which is simply to cover the ticketing fees charged by the preserve. A minimum of 10 participants is required for the tour to take place. Members should be on the lookout for more information about this field trip in coming weeks. Updated on April 9, 2023.
