HLBWS members and their invited guests have the opportunity to witness the return of rehabilitated birds of prey into the wild during a 2.5-hour Vanishing Texas River Cruise on Lake Buchanan. Learn about these magnificent birds “up close and in person,” as the rehabilitation specialists discuss each bird prior to the bird’s release. One lucky ticket holder will win the chance to release one of the raptors during the cruise! If at least 20 members sign up for the cruise, the fare will be reduced. Please see email sent via Groups.io for specific details. Members should remit payment for their fares as soon as possible - but no later than October 27, 2021 - to HLBWS, P.O. Box 386, Spicewood, TX 78669. We will meet at the dock at 10:00 a.m. and the ship will depart promptly at 11:00 a.m. Please note that no meals will be served, so in addition to cameras, participants may bring water and their own lunches or snacks to enjoy during the cruise. Come away with wonderful memories and a renewed appreciation for these raptors as they take flight back to freedom! A portion of each fare goes to support the rehabilitation efforts, so passengers are “paying it forward” to help more birds heal and return to freedom.
