“Native Plants Benefit Us All - How Can You Help?” Highland Lakes Ch., NPSOT

Melissa Alderson will be the featured speaker at this monthly meeting. She will address five topics: 1) a review of the four major ecosystems, 2) the benefits of native plants to local ecosystems, 3) the life-sustaining benefits of native plant diversity, 4) the importance of pollinators and how to help them thrive, and 5) conservation practices that create healthy community habitats. Melissa Felty (Alderson) has been a Conservation Education Manager with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for 3 years.  She manages the Community Waters programs and assists with Project WILD, a conservation education program for K-12 focused on the support of wildlife and natural resources.
