Great Backyard Bird Count, sponsored by Audubon, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, et al.

  • Your Own Backyard or Favorite Birdwatching Spot (map)

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is an opportunity to participate in a global a citizen scientist project! It’s also a great reason to do what we love to do: bird watching! Pick your favorite spot to watch birds and for at least 15 minutes on any one - or all four! - of the GBBC dates, record each of the bird species you see or hear, and the number of individuals within each of the observed species. Report your observations using the Merlin Bird ID app or in eBird (using either the app or the online version). That’s all there is to it!

HLBWS members… Shall we have a friendly rematch between Team Burnet and Team Marble Falls to see which team captures the most observations??
