“From Egg to Adult: How Milkweeds and Native Plants Help Monarchs,” Clear Lake Ch., NPSOT

TPWD Texas Nature Trackers Biologist Craig Hensley will give an overview of the natural history of milkweeds. He will identify native plants that provide important nectaring sources for the endangered* monarch butterflies as they migrate through Texas each fall. [*This designation does not reflect protected status under the US Endangered Species Act. The species was “red listed” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
