As announced at the December HLBWS meeting, the Burnet Christmas Bird Count (CBC) circle is centered slightly west of the city of Burnet. The count circle includes Lake Buchanan and Inks Lake as well as large private ranches, grasslands, mixed hardwood forests and Inks Dam National Fish Hatchery. Participants count birds at Inks Lake State Park, on some private properties, in rural subdivisions and along county roads.
