"Bugs Every Gardener Should Know," Highland Lakes Master Gardeners Association

  • Marble Falls Public Library 101 Main Street Marble Falls, TX, 78654 United States (map)

Molly Keck, a board-certified entomologist with the Bexar County AgriLife Extension office, will discuss insects that are often seen in Central Texas gardens. She will explain ways to identify them and talk about insects that are beneficial versus those considered to be “pests.” Then she will focus on the core concepts of an integrated pest management system (IPM). The goal of IPM is not to poison, but to suppress population levels for the insects and arthropods that are undesirable and to create favorable conditions for those that are desirable, using environmentally friendly practices. The talk will be given on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Marble Falls Public Library, 101 Main St, Marble Falls from 2-3 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.
