Cornell Lab of Ornithology coordinates two Global Big Days each year, this one in October and the other in May (so the next one will be May 11, 2024). This is a world-wide citizen science project, and anyone can take part in it! It’s as easy as 1-2-3. One, create an eBird account if you do not already have one. Two, on the specified date, go out and enjoy bird watching for at least 15 minutes. Three, record and submit your observations in eBird. That’s all there is to it! Your observations will be compiled with all the other observations submitted from around the world, adding to a rich database that scientists and researchers use to better understand our avian friends. So be a part of something big, and have fun birdwatching!
